Empowering Our Communities Through Holistic Care

Advancing culturally grounded healthcare for stronger, healthier communities.

The Health & Wellness Committee of the Northern First Nations Alliance (NFNA) is committed to improving the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our member Nations. We combine traditional healing with modern healthcare strategies to bridge critical gaps in care. Our focus is to develop community-led health solutions, including treatment and recovery services that reflect the cultural values of Indigenous peoples.

Our Focus Areas

  • Culturally Appropriated Healing
We integrate Indigenous knowledge and traditional healing practices into all aspects of health services, fostering trust, resilience, and long-term well-being.

  • Holistic Care
Recognizing the connection between mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health, we advocate for accessible, community-based programs that serve all ages and backgrounds.

  • Substance Use & Recovery Support
NFNA partners with Red Road Recovery and other Indigenous-led programs to provide culturally sensitive withdrawal, detox, and treatment services tailored to the needs of Indigenous youth, women, men, Elders, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Key Initiatives

The Legacy Project
