Legacy Project

The Legacy Project is one of our core initiatives, created to addressing the substance misuse crisis in Northern BC, especially within indigenous communities, we focus on providing culturally sensitive and accessible treatment and recovery services.

The project includes mobile outreach services to connect community members with education, health promotion, prevention and resources.

Additionally, medical detox services are offered through a partnership with the Northern Health Authority. The project also involves securing properties for treatment facilities and supportive housing, as well as implementing community outreach programs. At NFNA we are working with Red Road Recovery, an addiction treatment center, to provide beds for community members in need of substance abuse treatment

Their holistic approach combines 12-step methodologies with Indigenous guidance and traditional healing practices, providing services in serene locations such as Sorrento, Lumby, and Salmon Arm.

The facilities feature private bedrooms and incorporate cultural activities, including daily smudging, medicine wheel teachings, and sweat lodge ceremonies, to support clients on their recovery journey.
